January 1, 2014
The inauguration ceremony has taken place for the new plant in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan. The project was carried out by Turkey’s Dal Teknik Makina for the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) for an investment of US$114 million. The plant has a production capacity of 760 000 tpa of grey cement and 350 000 tpa of white cement. Some 70% of the plant’s total production will be exported. It is reported to be the most advanced cement plant in the country.
Construction of the new plant began in April 2013. The more efficient dry process was chosen to save energy resources, while raw materials are imported from the local area.
